Every so often clients will ask me about the meaning of their dream(s) or helping them make sense of a dream, typically because it was so vivid or it was a re-occurring dream. Having no background in the study of dreams, I can only offer limited insight.

 

A former supervisor once explained that dreams were a way for our mind to make sense or work things out that we’re not able to do while awake or conscious. In other words, our dreams can be a way of our unconscious thoughts or subconscious thoughts rising to the surface.

 

On that note, I wanted to share a very vivid dream I had right before I awoke one morning. The dream was about a reconciliation I had with someone from a past relationship. It was so profound and vivid that I even remember the dream being in color, which is not typical for me. Once I was able to express various feelings to this person in my dream, I instantly woke up saying to my self “Wow, that was a breakthrough!”
